Community & Connection
An interactive post that will hopefully connect people and lay a foundation for further community.
I write a few places on the internet, but this spot on Substack where I share The Overstimulated has had an increase in subscribers/followers lately. (Thank you to everyone! 💞) I’m still trying to figure out how to navigate my account both through the desktop and in the app. I hope that the threads I’ve been sharing sporadically are reaching you, unlike the notes I was leaving in the past. In an effort to make this space more of a dialogue and less of a monologue, I’m trying something a little different today.
If you’ve subscribed or followed and you were hoping for a “follow back” or you have other spaces you’d like to share with people, feel free to leave a comment on this post. Whether you’re writing your own blog or working on other projects you hope people will see, drop that link! I’m okay with you sharing your small business shop or social media accounts you’re trying to use to connect with people. Really anything you’d like to highlight, even if it is someone else’s endeavor that you think should be viewed by more people, is OK to contribute.
In general terms, things are going to get worse before they get better. I believe that cultivating connections and community is what will help us get through the tough times. While we’re trying to learn more to better ourselves and improve our existence, the application of our compiled knowledge doesn’t exist in a isolated vacuum. It is through our connections with others that our impact in this world is truly felt. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I can do to facilitate community-building and connection, and I thought I’d start with something as simple as this post.

Thanks. I ended up deleting my insta for now, but it was nice having you on there for a minute! Love your page and all of the looks.
@ink_splotch on Instagram. I'm searching for neurodivergent friendships to find a space of trust and belonging as we navigate everything that's going on in the world and try our best to play a part as "the people" in the revolution against hegemonic systems. I believe I'm autistic with adhd but have not been formally diagnosed as yet. Experiencing the world as I do can get incredibly lonely, although I'm very grateful for my gifts, too. I've very newly started to share some art on my Instagram, and there's always photos of my cat, The Cat.
